STATE-OF-THE-ART TECHNOLOGY!
Laser Therapy
State-of-the-art technology, Laser Therapy is available and practiced by ActivBody Physical Therapy. Since 2002 ActivBody and its members have continued to educate themselves and change with the growing industry to make sure specialized products are available to their patients.
Laser Therapy or "Photobiomodulation," is a low-level laser that uses specific wavelengths of light (red or infrared) to create therapeutic effects. Scientific research, thousands of published studies, and proven clinical effectiveness of Laser Therapy have been documented to show that this type of treatment really works. Laser Therapy can heal injuries faster, reduce pain, strengthen tissue repair, improve blood circulation and Lymphatic drainage, decrease swelling, relieve many pain syndromes, and can improve immune response, just to name a few.
Laser Therapy and the clinical benefits were only discovered by accident in 1967 during laser safety tests. In the late 1970's the first low-power lasers used for pain treatment became available commercially. In 2001, the FDA approval contributed to the growing phenomenon of Laser Therapy and is now used by physical therapists, doctors, and nurses worldwide.
The treatment of Laser Therapy takes about 5-10 minutes with zero to mild sensations of tingling and/or a warm soothing feeling. Every patient is evaluated differently depending on their condition. Acute conditions may need treatment daily and especially if the patient is suffering from severe pain. More chronic conditions may be treated 2-3 times per week. Laser Therapy treatment results may be felt even after the first initial session. However, depending on the nature of the condition, patients may need to get a number of treatments before feeling relief.
Laser Therapy is often used with other forms of therapy, such as, massage, soft tissue mobilization, electrotherapy, physical therapy, and following various kinds of surgery. ActivBody Physical Therapy uses such products to improve their patients conditions so you can go on living back to your normal life.
